Unique Things to Experience on Your Thailand Trip

In last couple of decades Thailand has emerged as a tourist hot spot for honeymooners from all over the world, backpackers and young people looking for some serious fun. This beautiful holiday destination never ceases to amaze you with its colorful culture, mesmerizing beaches and it's amazing nightlife. On my recent visit to thailand, I realised that confining myself just to the beautiful beaches of this country, as spellbinding as they can be, would be just like a sin. If you truly want to experience the rich culture of Thailand, you have to go deeper into its vast history, arts and traditional thai food. I am sharing some of Thailand's top cultural attractions which I found interesting.

Taste of Thailand

thailand food

Thailand is a food paradise. Thai food is one of the basic Thailand attraction with a perfect blend of sweetness, saltiness, sourness and bitterness. The spicy aroma of authentic Thai food will make your ears steam up;however, you can always balance that out with other flavoury and aromatic thai herbs. There are numerous thai restaurants and kitchens offering cooking classes in Thailand and from where you get to eat your own traditional thai creation! My personal traditional Thai food favourites are Khao Niaow served with traditionally grilled meat and the spicy and tangy Som Tam. And yes, dont forget to taste the delicious thai street food! You will find all thai street food vendors to be friendly and very  attentive to your food requests, you can just try to learn a few quick phrases in the local language to enjoy your thai tour if you can.

Spiritualism in Thailand

wat arun

A Thailand holiday trip is incomplete without visiting Wat Arun, one of the most beautiful tourist attraction in Thailand. While sitting in an isolated corner of the Wat Arun in Bangkok, feeling the early morning golden yellow sunlight, you might wonder about the beauty of the world and the love and treasure was there before the modern humans took over.  The peace and serenity from influence of the beautiful buddhist temple and the monks dressed in saffron will make you feel like you are in heaven.  Buddhism have something unique that helps you connect with your inner self. Thailand has over forty thousand monasteries, as Buddhisiam is their primary religion.

History and Rich Heritage of Thailand

Thailand’s rich heritage consists of huge number of temples and monasteries with cultural influence from Indian, Burmese and Chinese culture. Siam Niramit, which is one of the largest stage productions globally, colourfully describes the history of Thailand through their traditional song and dance on stage. Siamese history discusses regarding three Kings from the dynasty named Rama I, Rama II and Rama III. The Siamese folklore also incorporates a lot of themes and scenes from the vedic literature Ramayana.

Urban Culture of Thailand

One of the many amazing things to do on a Thai holiday includes venturing in the beautiful Thai culture. The modern culture of Thailand is build with a modern, fast-paced, chaotic city life engaged to the traditions of the history. Thailand's Bangkok is a stunning modern city with a flavour of Siamese History. The illustrious past of the city is visible today in it's glistening temples and resplendent palaces while you can witness the modern Thailand culture in it's colorful nightlife and world class infrastructure.

Rural Culture of Thailand

kanchanaburi

To experience the rural culture of Thailand, you need to spend some quality time with the hill tribes of far north Thailand. I have seen these tribal thai people living their life peacefully in the quaint villages. These people are neither disturbed nor overjoyed by the presence huge number of tourists. They do enjoy a bit your company though. If you like much to be in village and enjoy the village life, I would recommend Kanchanaburi visit for you. This special little thai town is surrounded by lush sugarcane fields having gentle northen winds and the rolling limestone hills. The hills have historical and interesting deep and winding limestone caves and also a lot of underground temples.

Traditional Festivals in Thailand

nakhon sawan

Are you still confused about what to do in Thailand on a Thai holiday trip? Go for theme festivals which are enjoyed throughout the year in Thailand. Nakhon Sawan Chinese New Year, Mae Hong Son Winter Feast and the Sweet Tamarind Fair are just to name a few festivals that you can enjoy on your Thai holiday tour. The most popular festivals in Thailand are the Chiang Mai Flower Festival and the Loi Krathong. Chiang Mai blooms into colourful flowers during February every year. They fill the thai city with beauty and amazing flower fragrance, while the enchanting Loi Krathong festival coming in the month of November is equally fantastic and celebrated all over the country, Thailand.

But without some retail therapy the trip would not be satisfying, right? If yes, The Night Bazaar of Chiang Mai is paradise for you. The best part being, it is open all round the year. Here you can get all types of real and fake designer ware at amazingly low prices, if you are a bargain expert.
